BlackBerry might not be the brand or company you think of when it comes to smartphones these days.
Back in the day that might have been the case, although right now the company’s brand isn’t quite what it used to be.
However it seems that in the face of the competition, BlackBerry appears to be holding on pretty well.
In a recent tweet by TCL’s President and GM Steve Cistulli, he claims that the reservations for the BlackBerry KEYone is the most reserved BlackBerry phone ever at Canadian carrier Rogers.
Cistulli did not provide us with any figures in terms of how many pre-orders/reservations were made, but either way we guess it’s still pretty optimistic news.
For those unfamiliar with BlackBerry’s situation at the moment, basically TCL is the company that has licensed the BlackBerry brand and is making the company’s smartphones at the moment.
The KEYone is the company’s latest release and is a BlackBerry phone powered by Android that sports a physical QWERTY keyboard, something that helped make BlackBerry famous to begin with.
As it stands the KEYone has been on sale in the UK already, but it is expected to find its way to the US and Canada come 31st of May.
