The Samsung Galaxy M2 with water drop notch display leaked

Samsung has managed to stay clear the notch display trend till now, however, a new report suggests that Samsung could join the notch bandwagon soon with its new Galaxy M series.

Samsung is reportedly working on a Galaxy smartphone series and the Galaxy M2 could be the first phone to be launched next year. Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy M2 could offer a water drop notch display, similar to the one seen on the Essential Phone.

The Samsung Galaxy M2 could reportedly be powered by an Exynos 7885 processor with 3GB of RAM and could run Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box. The device could come with a 13MP rear camera along with an 8MP selfie camera on the front, inside the water drop notch.

There are no official words from Samsung about the launch of the Galaxy M2, however, multiple report highlight that it could be launched in early 2019.

Not to forget that Samsung has always steered clear from notch displays which was popularised by Apple in the iPhone X. The South Korean rival was the only one to stick to its ‘Infinity Display’ while all major Android players jumped into the notch display bandwagon.

However, it seems Google, in a way, is finally forcing Samsung users to try out the display notch.

Of course, it is totally up to the user to decide but if any Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9+ users wants to experience the notch, then they now have a choice with the latest Android 9 Pie Beta update.

Google has officially added support for display notch in Android Pie and have even provided the option to simulate “display cutouts” inside the developer option of Android Pie. So, if you wish to try out the notch on the Galaxy S9 or S9+ then opt for Android 9 Pie beta and tweak the developer option.
