Yu is a subsidiary of Micromax Informatics Pvt Ltd. India's largest smartphone maker launched this sub-brand as an online-only venture. Yu makes affordable Android smartphones, sold in flash sales on popular Indian ecommerce websites.

The company also makes a fitness tracker and a health device that monitors vital parameters such as blood pressure.

Yu has officially announced a new smartphone in the Indian market called YU Yunique 2 YU5011. It's a 4G LTE smartphone that spots a 5.0 inches corning gorilla glass 3 screen with multi-touch feature of up to 2 fingers.

The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and powered by MediaTek MT6737 chipset.
