Samsung Galaxy S8 Update: iPhone 8 rival adds these two big updates

THE SAMSUNG Galaxy S8 is only a couple of months old, but it's already on the receiving end of its first major update.

The first major Samsung Galaxy S8 update has been confirmed.
Instead of focussing on the phone’s software, however, the update covers off the phone’s look.
That’s because two new Samsung Galaxy S8 colours have been announced for the UK.
The two new tones build on the Midnight Black and Orchid Grey colour schemes that have been available since day one.
The two new colours available are silver and blue.
This being a flagship phone, however, the names can’t be that simple.
Instead, Samsung has added Arctic Silver and Coral Blue to its S8 roster.
Revamped skins aside, however, these two new Galaxy S8 models are technically identical to their more traditionally toned siblings.
While the new colours have been confirmed, they’re not available just yet.

S8: The Samsung Galaxy S8 is getting a blue and silver makeover
They will only be available from select retailers too.
For those with their heart set on the Arctic Silver model, they will have to get their handset directly through EE.
The phone won’t be available on June 23 either.
If you’re after the Coral Blue model, however, things get worse.
Exclusively available through Carphone Warehouse, the phone will not be snapped up until June 30.
It’s currently unclear when, or indeed if, these new S8 models will be available on a SIM-free basis.
Beneath the surface the new S8’s pack the same 5.8-inch Infinity Display as the existing models.
This stunning display is enhanced by a near bezel-free design, with an octa-core processor running the show alongside 4GB of RAM.
While the phone’s rear-mounted fingerprint scanner has split opinion, the handset’s 12-megapixel camera only impresses.
A boosted selfie snapper and 3,000Ah battery round off the S8’s bulging specs sheet.
For all the things the S8 has going for it, a wallet-friendly price tag isn’t one of them.
A SIM-free Galaxy S8 will hit wannabe owners for £689.
Those after the larger, 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+ will see their bank balance fair even worse with a lofty £779 asking price.
