The Crash Bandicoot PS4 remaster is on the way. Here's what you need to know.
The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is a remastered bundle of the first three Crash Bandicoot titles heading to the PS4 and PS4 Pro in 2017.
The collection will include Naughty Dog's original Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. All the games have received updated graphics and textures with the PS4 Pro edition offering slightly more advanced visuals.
The PlayStation classic is beloved by many fans, with Crash Bandicoot often seen in the same vein as Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog.
For a lot of PS4 gamers, the hype around a remastering of the first three games is very real. Sony has been teasing out tidbits of info over the past year, with screenshots and trailers revealing more detail on what we're actually getting in the PS4 remaster.

Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy: Release date
After a first look at E3 2016 to much fanfare from gamers, the N Sane Trilogy will launch for the PlayStation 4 on 30 June.
A remastered Crash Bandicoot has been long awaited by PlayStation owners, especially as other Sony titles such as Ratchet & Clank have received the full remake treatment. It might not be the only game in the series to make a comeback, either, with Crash Team Racing also rumoured to be re-released at some point.
Sony has actually been teasing gamers about a new Crash Bandicoot-related release for several years now, with a glimpse of the colourful character even seen back in Sony's launch trailer for the PS4. It has taken several years, but with the game on the way, Sony has been sharing a lot of teases, including this gameplay trailer you can watch below.
While many HD collections stick to a digital-only release, Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy will be available as a physical copy, and it won't set you back the price of a fully fledged new title. Nevertheless, developer Vicarious Visions has said that it will stay pretty true to the original games, so this price most likely reflects the fact it's a remastered title rather than a complete remake of the old games.
Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy: Does it run in 4K on thE PS4 Pro
Developer Vicarious Visions has revealed that the game runs at an upscaled 1440p on the PS4 Pro at 30 frames per second. This might come as a disappointment to fans who were hoping for native 4K with the remaster, but Crash Bandicoot will see improved textures and lighting on the PS4 Pro.
Not hitting that 60fps mark might still come as a blow to some who expected maxed-out performance, though. Nevertheless, at 1440p the game should still look very good on the system. And while there's no native 4K, Crash Bandicoot actress Debi Derryberry has said she's reprising her role as Coco Bandicoot in two of the remastered games (even better, right?).
