Galaxy J3 Prime arrives at T-Mobile: 5″ HD display, 5MP camera, Nougat

Galaxy J3 Prime arrives at T-Mobile: 5″ HD display, 5MP camera, Nougat

T-Mobile is now offering the budget-tier Galaxy J3 Prime, a smartphone with a 5-inch HD display alongside decent specifications and, perhaps more importantly, a mere $6/month price if purchased with a device payment plan.

Those who choose to purchase the phone outright will be charged $150 USD, though there’s also the pesky (and somewhat ample) $25 SIM card fee to keep in mind, too.

Overall, the Galaxy J3 Prime has decent specs for the price. Users get a large 5-inch display with a 1280 x 720 resolution, as well as a 1.35GHz quad-core processor and 16GB of internal storage.

Those who need more storage space can expand the capacity by up to 128GB using a microSD card. Connectivity includes WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1.

As we’d expect from a modern smartphone, the Galaxy J3 Prime supports 4G LTE. Around back lies a paltry 5-megapixel camera with a flash, and on the front there’s a 2-megapixel camera for selfies.

WiFi is 802.11/a/ac/b/g/n; there’s also GPS for navigation. The phone is running Android 7.0 Nougat.

The Galaxy J3 Prime gives users up to 20 hours of talk time on a charge and up to 20 days of standby time.

Those who choose to get the handset with the $6/month device payment will be on the hook for 24 months. Individuals determined to have ‘average credit’ will have to pay $126 outright and then will be charged $1/month for 24 months, a somewhat clever way for T-Mobile to keep the customer around for two years.
