Major WhatsApp update will change the way you use the app forever - if you have an iPhone

WhatsApp Siri functionality
WHATSAPP UPDATE: The popular messenger now lets Siri read your messages
Another day, another major WhatsApp update worthy of your attention.
The latest update to the world’s most popular messaging service is only available to those with an iPhone, however.

That’s because the service has introduced new Siri-compatible skills.
Now, for the first time, Siri can read your messages for you.

To make use of the new WhatsApp tool, you’ll first need to download the latest version of the hugely popular app.

As well as being limited exclusively to iPhone owners, the update requires your Apple-branded handset to be running the latest iOS 10.3 operating system.

“You can now ask Siri to read your latest messages,” the WhatsApp update notes state.
To make use of the feature, you’ll need to simply state: “Hey Siri, read my last WhatsApp message.”

Once Siri is triggered with its wake word, Apple’s digital assistant will read out your received message as well as giving you details on the sender.

As well as proving a fun, handy addition, the Siri-friendly WhatsApp skills will be a great tool for drivers who can now enjoy hands-free messaging.

Siri’s WhatsApp support isn’t limited to a one-way relationship either.

Users can also ask Siri to transcribe their replies, letting them enjoy extensive back and forth WhatsApp messaging sessions without lifting a finger.

This is just the latest in a recent flurry of high-profile WhatsApp updates.

In recent weeks, the messenger service has added and given users the ability to .

It’s not all good news though, the app has also sought permission to share user details with parent company Facebook to better target you with ads.

WhatsApp is the word’s most popular messaging service with well over 1 billion active monthly users.
